DJ Policy and Regulation

The district’s purchasing program shall serve the interests of the school district and its educational program by providing the necessary supplies, equipment, and services.

The superintendent and Business Manager shall serve as purchasing agents for the district and shall be responsible for developing and managing the purchasing program of the district in such a way to ensure maximum accountability and greatest benefit to the school district is accomplished by the purchasing program.

In the managing of the purchasing program all applicable laws relating to utilization of competitive bids shall at all times be observed as well as all laws relating to purchase of items representing a sum total cost less than what may be established by law as not applicable to competitive bidding.

The effort shall be made to purchase items locally if a product of equal quality and value is proposed at a sum total delivered cost of not more than ten percent above the cost an out of district supplier can provide the product to the school district.
