JEB Policy - Entrance Age

A child must have reached the age of five on or before September 15 to be admitted to kindergarten. To be admitted to the first grade, a child must have reached the age of six on or before September 15. Proof of birth in the form of a birth certificate or other acceptable proof will be required for initial enrollment in either kindergarten or first grade.

New resident students from other states who have already entered kindergarten or first grade and do not meet the age requirements for the State of Wyoming may be admitted to the district's schools. However, reasonable evidence must be presented that the student was enrolled for a period of at least 1 month in a bonafide kindergarten or first grade program in the other state.
